Puffling Chase | Bouncing Puff

Avery loved everything cute and colorful, to a point where it was some kind of obsession. Of course, this also meant that Avery really wanted to catch that Puffling. And yet, they knew full well that they wouldn't be able to do it on their own, not being the best runner when everything was said and done, so they asked Serafino to help. Partially because Sera was very good at sneaking up on people, and partially because Avery knew that he would never say no to their requests. Which lead them to where they were now, both of them hiding behind a bush and looking out towards the puffling. Everyone else had seemingly run off to catch other balls of fluff.

"So, what's the plan, Avery?" Serafino asked simply, and Avery smirked in response. "Honestly, it's quite simple. You'll approach it from the left, and I'll approach it from the right. When we get close, we start shuffling in a counter-clockwise formation so that we start making a circle around it with out bodies. Hopefully, if it tries to run, it'll either land into our arms, or knock into our legs." The other Shawling nodded. Seemed simple enough, at least.

Sera got up first, starting to move in to the target and watching as Avery did the same. They both seemed to be taking this extremely seriously, even as the cheerful puffling turned around and proceeded to stare directly at them. Neither of them allowed that cute little smile to deter them. They got into formation and started to circle around the puffling. The colorful beast just stared back up at them- that was, until they got close enough.

The puffling suddenly jumped up, landing into Avery's hands but quickly squirming out of their grasp and jumping over to Serafino. Sera tried to get a good grip on them, but it was no use, watching as the creature once again jumped towards Avery. The two shawlings panicked a little, desperately moving and grabbing at the painted puffling as it continued to bounce between them. With ever set of bounces, the two of them got closer together in their attempt to get a solid grip.

Eventually, the bouncing stopped. Both Avery and Serafino thought that they had a solid grip- which they did, but when they looked down, they realized that it wasn't on the puffling. The puffling was staring back up at them, squished between the two of them as they held each other in a hug.

"Clever little puff." Serafino chuckled, watching as the puffling relaxed in their arms. "Does...this mean we caught it?" Avery asked, looking up to Sera. "I...suppose it does. It certainly doesn't look like it's going to run off anymore." The brighter colored shawling giggled, lightly knocking his head into Serafino's. "Oh, yay! Thank you for the help, Sera! I would hug you... but I suppose I already am hugging you, aren't I?"

Sera scoffed, but smiled alongside it. He was just glad that Avery was happy...though he definitely didn't mind the fact that the puffling forced them to hug like this.
