A Farewell to Shawlings.com

Over the past few months, it has been a hot topic among the admin team on where to go with the future of the species. Whilst the website has many benefits and fun ways for our community to engage with the species, it has not overall served the purpose we expected or wanted it to. Between the 3 members of the main team, there were a lot of issues with the website which include but were not limited to; cost of upkeep, time and resource demand. This combined with our inability to code made the website updates very sporadic but also time consuming. Too much time spent on running and creating assets for the website, mean that we have less time to put into other aspects of the species such as lore etc. Overall, Shawling's were designed to be a very community heavy species and encourage socialisation between members and their Shawling's through roleplay and artwork. We believe that the website may have hindered this but encouraging a "single player" mindset and diverting attention away from the community side of the species, which is what we wanted to bring focus to. We have heard members requests for compensation for time invested into the website but have unfortunately found that there is nothing we can offer in regards to compensation. There is no way to transfer items from the website to an external inventory system and thus, all inventory items will be lost. All items which are valued with real currency (paid MYOs, paid adoptables etc) will still be honored and retain their value. Any questions about this can be directed to @☆Artemis (DM's are open!)

From Closed to Semi-Open

MYO approvals were another pivoting factor in our decision to shut down the website, due to the unwanted stress put upon the team ontop of other commitments. Because of this, we are happy to announce that as of November 3rd 2024, Shawling's are now a semi-open species! What does this mean for you? Create as many Shawling's as you want! Due to the removal of inventories, all mutations (Keratin growth, False harpy, Beast, Dragon and Siren) are free to use on any Shawling (this includes redesigns/updating your existing Shawling's) Cursed and Blessed Shawling's will be the only current variations that are restricted, locked behind adoptables and event rewards A new update to the Arcanum system which allows Shawling's to mix and match their Arcanum with one common and one uncommon arcanum. The New Website and The Future...

We are very proud to present the new, one-stop shop for all your Shawling information; https://shawlingsofficialspecies.carrd.co/ The new website includes; A comprehensive guide for Shawling's including information in Shawls, Mutations, Rules and more A display of all NPCs and the role's they play in Everbourne Rules, guidelines and terms of service for taking part in the species (which we suggest everyone should read!) Lore of Everbourne, coming soon! And so much more to explore and read! Events, prompts and a majority of Shawling based content will now be *exclusively on discord whilst the carrd hosts information and guides for the species. This means that everything Shawling's will all be in one place! Saving members time and effort in finding the things they need. Event rewards will now consist of exclusive and unique designs including cursed and blessed Shawling's. Toyhouse will continue to also host our world, which is available for members to submit their Shawling's to (this is entirely optional!) This has been a huge undertaking by our team as a whole including artwork overhauls by our team and guest artists and website work by our admin team. We sincerely hope that this change is a welcome one and will encourage people to invite their friends to get involved in our community as we grow together!

There are a total of six new items available throughout the event! Gathering five of each item over the course of the event will earn you an on-site award badge to show off your pirate escapades! Completion of the award will also grant you a Diamond Chest for your effort! Awards will need to be claimed by the individual via the 'awards' tab on-site Need help getting items? Don't forget to ask around in the discord for potential trades!

Ticket prizes

This will be the first event to offer the ticket currency as a reward! This is an event only currency that can be used to purchase all customisations (potions and shawl changes), loot bags and MYOs from Mimzy's Ticket Tent. We hope people enjoy the event and we look forward to seeing everyone's shawling's enjoying their pirate life!

IMPORTANT SITE UPDATE

We are going to have a re check over our site and edit a bunch of things for the LOREKEEPER due to some feedback we have gotten.
This will include overhaul of existing prices , currency and over all edits of all features .
We will be disabling foraging / shops / crafting for the next few days whilst we work on everything and will let people know when it’s back up .

CURRENCY & VALUES UPDATE

+ update, but we have been hard at work reviewing the drop rates, rarities, values and sale value of all the items obtained via foraging on site!!

To complete this process, we had to do a complete overhaul of the currency economy on site.
We will explain what this means for you and your current currency in a future update, but for now; here are some breakdowns!

The most valuable item on-site is currently the Shawling MYO ticket, which we have valued at 100 diamond (50 diamond for one time FTO tickets)
This is followed by the shawl customisation items available from The Tailor's Boutique, valuing at 50 diamond for the bug and bat shawl, whereas the feather shawl is 20 diamond.

Between the team, we decided on an ideal time frame we think it should take to earn a MYO and have such valued items and prompt rewards around this time frame. There are now a variety of 'rarities' among items which reflect in their sale value. Prompt rewards have been updated as such;

Monthly gifts
May be completed 3 times a month
Rewards; 1 Diamond, 10 Gold

Exploration
May be completed once a month
Rewards; 1 Foraging Bag, 2 Diamond

Shawl Unboxing
May be completed once per character
Rewards; 2 Wooden Chests, 10 Diamond

The contents of items such as Foraging Bags, Wooden Chests, Bag of Coins etc are still being reviewed as is crafting costs/rewards.
A lot of features on the site will remain disabled whilst we continue on working to improve the site, but we will be sure to keep members up to date with frequent updates!!!

Welcome on in everyone and we hope you enjoy what we have to offer on site.
Our whole team have been working so hard for this moment and we are so happy to share it with you.
(please keep in mind the site's still early stages so some things might be unfinished or not finalised)

For existing Shawling/MYO slot owners, you will need to claim your characters via here Please fill out the form provided below;
make sure your account has the same Toyhouse you keep characters on linked so we can confirm ownership.
