Fire Flight Festival | Market Stall Bickering
"Come on, Sera! You've got to want something!" Avery tugged on the other's arm slightly, dragging the dark shawling through the festival market with little care in the world. "Really, Avery. I don't have any interest in anything, it's all so... ugh- bright." He adjusted the protective glass over his eyes, making sure that it covered as much as possible. Usually he was alright being out at night, but with all of the fireworks and the sparklers, it was definitely more challenging.
"But I want to buy you something! You buy stuff for me all the time, and I barely have a chance to do the same for you!" Avery complained, letting go of Serafino's arm just so that she could cross her arms and huff. "Sure, a lot of the stuff here is really bright, but there has to be something in there that'll work! After all, you still were able to find something you could buy for me despite how little blue and pink there is around here!"
Serafino sighed. "That was a snack. It had nothing to do with the colors, you just happen to really like festival food. I would have gotten some for myself too if it wasn't so... sweet. Really, how can you manage to eat something with that much sugar?" "That's not the point!" Avery screeched, waving her arms around before continuing down the market stalls. "If you don't help me find something you like, I'm just going to buy whatever and hand it to you!"
"Doesn't that defeat the point of giving me a gift if you give me something that I don't exactly want?"
Both of them had a moment of silence, Avery shaking where she stood. Eventually, Serafino broke the tension, sighing and starting to walk. "Alright, alright. I guess I did see something that I kind of liked. If buying it for me will make you feel better, then sure, you can get it for me." Avery perked back up, clapping her hands together and chasing after Serafino as he walked towards one of the market stalls.
He lead the other shawling to a small market stall with a collection of accessories. "So uh...that." Sera pointed towards one of the fabric pieces, specifically a nice red and gold cape that was covered in little decorative sparkle buttons. "Oh! How didn't I think about that before! I should have known that you'd like a cape like this to go over your shawl!" Avery lightly smacked herself on the head, quickly shuffling to pull a few pieces of gold out of her bag. Even if Serafino wasn't exactly the biggest fan of getting gifts, he would sacrifice his pride for this. After all, Avery being happy was more important...
And the cape was a plus as well, of course.
